The idea of having butterflies in your stomach is a positive way to look at nervous energy.

I’ve always felt a nervous energy and anxiety in my stomach. I thought it could be interesting to dive into that aspect of fear and anxiety and personify it as creatures that live in your stomach.

I put up some posters for people to write down their anxieties. I ended up not using these in my final book, but it was an interesting exercise.

I experimented with size, feel, and paper interactions that could enhance the narrative.

A bigger size seemed appropriate to match the “legal” feel, something which resembled a file or official documents. I additionslly looked at ways of embedding subtext and multiple voices, but in the end decided to lean towards simplicity.
