A fast fashion solution with the click of a Button.

Time: 2 months
Button sprung from Studio Rodrigo’s mission to positively impact their local community.
My work creating a thrift store on my campus prompted them to give me a space to explore my interest in entrepreneurial sustainability. My goal was to conduct and present research surrounding the Circular Economy, in particular, how it relates to the world of fast fashion and clothing habits.
I began this sprint by conducting research on the Circular Economy and companies that were working within that framework.
I learnt what circular business models looked like, and where their successes and failures lay. I looked into non profits and unique initiatives like ThredUp and The Renewal Workshop that were working to promote reuse.
I found the concept of Cost Per Wear interesting, and I further explored it through a consumer standpoint.
This sparked another round of market research and looking into the benefits of recognizing and tracking how much you wear the clothes you own. Below are some of my findings.
1. It’s incredibly hard for the customer to understand where their clothes are coming from.
2. There is an overall trend of documenting your outfits. Visibility of your clothes helps you recognize how often you wear items
3. There are apps that help you document clothes but they are clunky and often require too much upfront, leading to cognitive overload.
